Eduard is a professional athlete, tactician, and skipper. He served as coach of the Russian national sailing team (2018–2024) in the ILCA6–ILCA7 classes. He began sailing in 1987 and holds the title of Master of Sports of International Class.

His career includes three Olympic campaigns: two as an athlete (2008–2012) and one as a coach (2021). Beyond Olympic sailing, he has extensive offshore experience, including participation in the Rolex Middle Sea Race, a prestigious Mediterranean offshore race held annually in Malta in October. He has also completed passages in South Africa and across the Indian Ocean.
